The foundation organises seminars and conferences about being a citizen, democracy and participation for young people aged 14 to 19 for the purpose of teaching them Estonian.
The ‘Are You Ready?’ and ‘One Step Closer’ youth conferences were held in 2008, ‘The Case of Käru Village’ and ‘Two Steps Closer’ youth seminars, and the ‘Language Is Music’ conference took place in 2009.
New prints of the Take Part. Say If You Think! collection were published in cooperation with the Estonian National Youth Council. The same book has also been translated and published in Russian. The collections are given to young people for free during the activities organised by the Our People Integration and Migration Foundation and the Estonian National Youth Council.
Future City games are carried out in different local governments in cooperation with the British Council and the Open Estonian Association of Youth Centres. Young people and officials half of whom speak Estonian and half Russian take part in these two-day games. Together, the players find the main problems in the local government and offer good ideas about how they can be resolved.
The Are You Ready? youth newsletter was published in cooperation with AS Ajakirjade Kirjastus at the end of 2008 to motivate Russian-speaking young people to read media in Estonian. In 2009 the newspaper Window published by the Estonian National Youth Council wrote about the activities of Russian-speaking young people in Estonia during the whole year.
